(1) Thermal Protection
Lampholders are built with a PTC thermistor inside, that provides protection when overheated that could cause an overload or exceed ambient temperature. PTC will reduce the wattage and lower the heat to protect the dimmer's electronic components. For example, if an end user replaces the 150W bulb on the socket rated for use 150 max with a 200W bulb, the socket will sense the temperature exceeding it's normal ambient temperature and the PTC will automatically reduce the wattage like automatic dimming thus decreasing the temperature of the socket to the normal temperature.
(2) Conforms to California Energy Saving Law
Our sockets built with PTC automatically reduce excessive wattage and overheating. This saves energy in compliance with the Energy Savings Law in the State of California. This feature would be to your advantage especially when marketing competitively for energy saving.
